This is an outline of a simple chat app that can replace the following apps & categories altogether : email, Wikipedia, Reddit, Discord, Stackoverflow, Academia & Arxiv, RoamResearch, Obsidian, Notion, Twitter, Youtube, Imgur & Instagram & Pinterest, & Google Blogs & Books. It has 4 major pages. Feed, Search, Inbox, & Talk. I will describe only the Inbox & Talk pages.
A talk is just a chat with hierarchical tabs of subtalks, where each message is like a RoamResearch page, containing a hierarchy of blocks, & each message can be replied to by other messages as you would comments in Reddit. So a full subtalk is like a tree of trees. & a full talk with tabs is like a tree of trees of trees. & talks & subtalks & users & messages can be linked & backlinked to. & talks are livestreamed by default. & talks & subtalks & messages & blocks can be upvoted or downvoted. & talks can reserve some tabs for public participation like Reddit comments, (but more powerful, because each comment is like a RoamResearch page). & subtalks can be opened in subwindows like in Zeminary Arrays, to allow for commenting while reading. & messages can be edited, but the edit must be approved by the creator of the message. & messages have edit histories as a whole. & talks can have abstracts that can make them function like a tweet in feeds.
An inbox has 11 default single data type flat list tabs. Talks, invites, messages, message replies, subscriptions, contacts, history, saved, drafts, edit requests, trash. An inbox can have an unlimited # of custom tabs of single or mixed data types. Tab contents are organized hierarchically by default, but they can be set to be like in Notion views viewed flatly & by date. & subhierarchies can be entirely referenced like in RoamResearch into the same or other inbox tab content hierarchies. So an inbox is like a tree of trees.
Wikipedia can be decentralized, as in, different groups can create different encyclopedias in talks. Subreddits can be run in a talk. Blogs & Books & PKMs & papers can be done in talks. Images can be uploaded in talks & their subsections like in Google Drive can be commented on.
This is best done on Firebase, because AFAIK, only Firestore allows you to listen to documents for changes in realtime, & has subcollections. & you can update search databases through 2nd Generation Cloud Functions.
It's basically the entire internet in a single website.
Instead of redoing Youtube, Google can implement timestamplinks with a start & end to these videos, on top of links & backlinks. This allows for atomic discussion of video segments. These videos should also be able to be organized like trees of smaller videos. This allows for editability. & their whole edit histories should be preserved like with messages. This is best done with Google Cloud Transcoder API.
